Principles of the MCRC

December 5, 2006

The MCRC, called Movimiento de los Ciudadanos hacia la República Constitucional (Citizen Movement towards Constitutional Republic) in Spanish, is a Spanish political movement that intends to establish a Constitutional Republic, first in Spain, and afterwards in the rest of the world. Currently, the leader of this movement is a Spanish philosopher called Antonio García-Trevijano. By writing in this blog, we will try to translate the most important parts of his political message into English. We begin today with this post explaining the main principles of the MCRC:

I. Because the human beings are not born equal, neither in the physical and mental capacity, nor in the social condition, so the Society and the State should guarantee the equality in rights and opportunities to all of them.

II. Because there is a moral imperative in every human conscience, so any personal, social and political opportunism is blameworthy.

III. Because the individual can develop neither his vocations nor his actions out of the social context, so loyalty is the source to all personal and social virtues.

IV. Because Spanish people have been made fearful by his traditional education in the authoritarian State, so only the individual courage is able to strengthen
civil society against the State.

V. Because for centuries both intelligence and creative spirit were sacrificed and despised, and they were also expelled out from the educational institutions, from Political Parties and the State, so these individual powers should be organized to manage to have active presence in the civil society.

VI. Because decency constitutes the civilization’s feature, therefore the civil society must “civilize” both Political Parties and Unions, taking them out of the State.

VII. Because between the State of Political Parties and the civil society there isn’t a political intermediate society, so the most civilized part of the civil society should lead the formation of political society without intervention from the State.

VIII. Because the politics concerns to the universe of governed people, if the language of politicians and mass media is not direct, correct and an expression of the common sense, so this language hides a lie or a fraud.

IX. Because the secret reasons of the political power are not legitimate, so the Reason of State will always be illegitimate.

X. Because the reason of Executive Authority is legitimate only if there is political freedom among the people who choose the Executive Branch in the State, so all the government are illegitimate, though it could be legal, when they aren’t elected directly by the governed people and when the government cannot be revoked by these last.

XI. Because the reason of the law is on prudence of independent legislators elected by those who will obey the law, so the laws can never be respectable, though they are respected, when these laws come from a Legislative Branch under Executive Branch’s dependence.

XII. Because the reason of legal justice is on the expert knowledge of a Judiciary System independent from the Executive Branch and from the Legislative Branch, so the resolutions of a Judicial Branch under dependence of the other two branches can be neither just not worthy.

XIII. Because the reason of the elected one is on imperative individual and revocable mandate of the elector, so the electoral proportional system of lists is fraudulent because it only represents to chiefs of the political parties and never to citizens.

XIV. Because the mass media form the published opinion, so the news and information controlled by the oligopolies of economic powers can’t be impartial or true.

XV. Because the corruption is inherent to situations in which the powers of the State are undivided, so the corruption only might be avoided when the State’s Branches were divided and the fear and the distrust arises among the respective ambitions of them.

XVI. Because the Spanish Autonomies are increasingly giving support to discriminatory nationalism or secessionism, so Autonomies should be counter-weighed across their integration into the presidential way of Government.

XVII. Because the Spanish Autonomies also increase the unproductive public expenses, then the Autonomic faculties which were possible to give to municipalities they should be transferred to it.

XVIII. Because this Monarchy of Political Parties doesn’t have the authority to keep united the Spanish conscience and this Monarchy has been a source of coups d’état and corruption, so a Constitutional Republic must be substituted for this Monarchy. This Constitutional Republic will separate the Institutions of the National Government, which will represent the civil society and which will consolidate the natural patriotism of the Presidential Government way.

XIX. Because the free consent of the governed ones is the only reason of them to political obedience, then the governed people self-preserve their right to civil disobedience and passive resistance, without ever coming to the violence, in opposite to any corrupt government or any government which abuses the power.

XX. Because the past cannot be returned to live without imposing it by the State’s violence, so pacific restoration isn’t possible to the Second Spanish Republic.

XXI. Because the Government Systems in the European nations was designed on the Cold War Power System and it wasn’t democratic, so the Spanish people needs to renew their political culture to get come to Democracy as formal rule of the politics.
